The Cat Box Barometer

Every day I have a routine.
Part of that routine is to scoop the litter box.

I have come to view this activity as a barometer of how my day will progress.
If it’s a clean, easy scoop, it will be a good day. If it’s a difficult clean up then that is how the day will be.

Difficult.

All day.

LOL

It reminds me of when I was a kid. I would make deals with God.

“Please, God, if you let me pass the algebra test I promise to….(insert whatever arbitrary activity seems appropriate at the time.)”

I don’t really think of myself as a superstitious person, but I guess my inner thoughts contradict this.

Do you ever use random indicators to predict your day?

  1. When I get up in the morning, know my name and can function in the shower, it's a good day.

  3. That made me smile... as a child I did the same.
Now I am thankful to God for each day xx

  4. Uh, yes. If my hubby is in a good mood it'll be a good day and if not...time to get lost in reading or art. That can turn yucky days into good ones but the trick is in getting lost in them.

  6. Oh yes. I always weigh the ingredients for my morning soup (yes. I know. I've come to accept my quirkiness.) in the pan on a digital scale. When I take it off and the weight is -(minus)666, the day will and SHALL be brilliant. I mean, -666 should be awesome, right?? Anything away from that? Sliding scale. Hahahaha :) We're weird. But weird in a good sense. Right? :)
