Husband grew up with salt water in his veins.
He wanted the boys to learn to love the water too.
So from the time they could fit into a child size life
jacket he took them on the boat and to the beach.
He taught them to love the water but also to respect it.
Be careful of the undertow, but let it work for you.
Don’t fight it.
The boys called it ‘The Undertoad’.
Beware of The Undertoad!
We thought it was just a cute misunderstanding of what we
were saying.
Years later, when they were older, they told us they thought
there was really a giant toad under the water that pushed them around the point
and they shouldn’t fight him and make him angry!!
Aww, that is so cute of them thinking that. Bet he looked like your drawing, love the addition of the red eyes.
ReplyDeleteOooh, he's a nasty critter. I never liked going to the beaches where the Under Toad lived.
ReplyDeleteyes, you definitely want to watch out for the Undertoad!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the way kids think…and Yep…I've spent the last 20 years reverting to child-like thinking!
ReplyDeletePretty funny! What a character, that Under Toad :)
