It’s Pink And I Am In Love!

My friend Annie is a fiber artist. She has an eye for composition that I admire and envy. She can put together scraps of fabric in such a way that tells a wonderful story!
Recently she posted these pictures of a piece she was working on and I immediately fell in love!
It was wonderful!

I studied the pictures, looking at every little detail and wishing in my heart of hearts it was mine.

Fast forward to the day we met up for a visit. When I saw her walking into the shop with a bundle tucked under her arm my heart skipped a beat!

WISHES REALLY DO COME TRUE!
It now resides on the Big Red Chair, and whenever I sit there I caress it and cuddle it and smile.
Thank you so much Annie!!! You will never know how much I love it!

I Love Surprises!

I look forward to the mail this time of year because not ALL the envelopes are bills!
But this was a total surprise!

My über talented friend Ann Hyde sent me not one but TWO original watercolor paintings of William the Lurcher her wonderfully comical Lurcher sight hound!

Apparently he has his own business card as well as his own blog!
And Ann has a two blogs of her own.
One dedicated to the adoration and sketches of William and one where she shares her travels and wonderful watercolors.
Her sketches are nothing short of brilliant!
With a single brush stroke she can say so much!
Hop on over and take a peek, you'll be glad you did!
I am thrilled to have such talented and generous friends!

Friend's Art

My BF (blog friend) Pia Drent is a unique artist with a keen sense of humor in her art.
I am lucky to own an original piece of hers and now I am the lucky recipient of a set of her whimsical cards!
I was lusting for them as soon as she put them in her Etsy shop.

It’s good to have such talented friends!!!!!

She Has Finally Decided Where She Wants To Be

This was a surprise anniversary gift.
My dear friend Corinne (https://www.facebook.com/corinne.inglis.9) took this picture of a flower in her garden.
Isn’t she (and I think it’s a she, don’t you?) stunning?
It was given to us back in May and after all these weeks (and many dress rehearsals in different places throughout the house) she  has finally settled on where she wants to be.
In the Studio, right where I can see her when I’m sitting in my big red comfy chair!
Thank you Corinne (& John!) for your wonderful gift!

We have the nicest friends!

I Have the BEST Blog Friends….EVER!

I received a gift today from my BFF (blog friend forever) in the Yukon (brrrrrr….) Kim Henkel.

Isn't this the cutest little envelope!!!!!
Her ethereal creations make me swoon! ♥♥♥♥♥
(Not to mention the fabulous packaging!)
Sometimes she takes natural things like rocks and driftwood and adds her own nature art to them.
When I saw this ‘Robin rock’ I think I almost fainted!
I wanted to buy it from her but she would have none of it and today her little Robin flew into my mailbox!

Thank you Kim! I’m over the moon in love with my ‘pet rock’! She will love her new home surrounded by all the wonderful art my friends have shared with me.

BWAAAAAWK

HENNY has finally arrived!

I am over the moon in love with this little book! (and Henny!)
I can't even begin to express how WONDERFUL it is!
Oh wait, yes I can.....

This is the review I gave it on Amazon:

BEYOND WONDERFUL

Having gotten to know Elizabeth Rose Stanton from her blog I was sure her first book was going to be something special. I was wrong! It is BEYOND special. It’s heartwarmingly WONDERFUL. A story of differences, acceptance and soaring accomplishment. Not only is this a great story for children, Elizabeth has thrown in details that will tickle the funny bone of even the most cantankerous curmudgeon! A storybook for all ages (one that doesn’t set your teeth on edge from its sweetness) is a rare find these days. Kudos to Simon and Schuster for recognizing an up and coming author/illustrator that has something to say and a unique way of saying it!

YOU MUST GET THIS BOOK! (even if you have no children in your life, trust me your inner child will thank you!) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

♥♥♥ Friends ♥♥♥

I am so lucky to know so many talented artists!
And luckier still that they share their art with me!

I LOVE when I go to the mailbox and it holds a wonderful little jewel like this!

Whenever I’m feeling low and need a burst of color to lift my mood I head over to ‘jogatheringwild’ where my friend Jo posts her scrumptious collages.
She never fails to wow me and give me the kick in the pants I need to get off my duff and go DO SOMETHING!
Not to mention bring a smile to my face every time!

Thanks Jo! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
My wall of friends is growing and I’m thrilled!

Errata

It occurred to me after I published yesterday’s post I forgot to give proper credit to my good friend Laurie for her contribution in dressing the lovely ladies.
All the clothes in yesterday’s post were made from her delicious Gelli Plate prints!
Thank you Laurie!
I’m sure you’ll see your prints popping up in all sorts of my things!

Mail Love

Some days the mail isn’t worth the walk down the driveway.
Then there are days like THIS!

I actually gasped with delight when I opened the envelope!

The very talented (and my blog friend I’m pleased to say)
Sue Tincher Maib paints the most amazingly beautiful, sumptuously colored watercolor flowers. She paints more than just flowers, but I am in awe of her garden creations. I secretly coveted one of her works of art (how she knew I’ll never know…. wink, wink, nudge, nudge! LOL)

Thank you sooooooooo much Sue! I’m still grinning! ♥♥♥

♥♥♥ Guest Artist ♥♥♥

My friend Laurie is a fabulous journal artist!
She can do sooooo much with a blank page!
I LOVE when we get together and she brings some of her journals with her.
It's such a wonderfully tactile experience to be able page through them! I'm honored that she shares them with me!

She makes the most gorgeous backgrounds with her Gelli Plate (I’m just slightly jealous!)

Look at what she did with one of my ‘beasties’!
He's riding TWO bicycles!

The quote is from Carl Hiassen:  "The first rule of hurricane coverage is that every broadcast must begin with palm trees bending in the wind.”

I’m still grinning!

If you are interested in any of my critters for use in your own art I've listed printable PDF downloads in my Etsy shop. There is a minimal charge of 20¢  because Etsy wouldn't let me list it for free. Sorry.......

Bobby’s Home!

I was so excited when Husband brought in the mail on Saturday!
There was a package from the Netherlands!

Whooo hooo!

“Bobby’s here!” I exclaimed.
Husband looked perplexed so I ripped open the package with abandon to show him.

The very talented artist/illustrator (and I’m proud to say my online friend) ‘Pia Drent’ painted this little fellow and the instant I saw him I knew I had to have him!

I emailed her and asked her if she was going to list him in her Etsy shop and when she said yes I impatiently waited and swooped in like a vulture the second he was listed!

SCORE!

I just LOVE Bobby (Pia named him and I think it fits him perfectly!)

He will find a more permanent home soon, but for now he sits right in front of me on my desk, and I smile every time I look at him!

I was so excited I’m afraid I didn’t take ‘before’ pictures of the packaging or of the ‘unveiling’.  (My bad! LOL)

Thank you Pia! I'm thrilled to have Bobby and I promise to give him a loving home!
