Validation
She was told to report to the 35th floor. When
she arrived she was shown into a large corner office with floor to ceiling
windows that highlighted the panoramic view of the city skyline. Several men
were milling around the desk as she entered. The air seemed to crackle with
anticipation.
For as long as she could remember her daydreams had been this
exact moment.
She had to admit it was appealing, she found herself
tempted.
When she left the building, with her portfolio securely
tucked under her arm, she knew she wasn’t going to take the position.
It wasn’t the job she was after.
It was the OFFER.
