week three: straight to pen continuous line drawing

Continuous line drawing of a tin lighthouse from hubby’s collection. I really misjudged this one! Went right off the top of the page! (I find I look at the subject so much I forget to look at where I am on the page.)
It may not be accurate, but I like the loose, cockeyed style.

I’ve been trying to give myself a time limit (just a few minutes), to do these sketches fast.

  2. I like it too. If you are looking more at the object than the page you are doing a modified blind contour drawing. Blind contour would be never looking at the paper. I think you've done really well. I've heard if you do this a lot, accuracy gets better. Sometimes I want that perfect picture but the other side of me says I don't as then it could just as well be a photo. I don't need to worry much though as perfection isn't going to happen for me.

Now it looks like you did watercolor here instead of markers. And, you are leaving that prescious white space. Good for you!
