There is a high wall that I frequently pass in my travels around town.
And on this wall the birds like to congregate.
As I pass it, I always wonder…..what are they gathering for? What are they thinking?
And I begin to imagine different scenarios.
If there are many, I wonder if it’s a meeting of some sort.
When there are only one or two birds I think they must be saying, “Well, looks like nobody checked their e-mail today for the meeting time.”
Or are they planning an attack on the humans, à la Hitchcock?
Perhaps it’s a retirement party and they’re there to give Herb his gold watch.
I’m glad I have this space to share these thoughts, because when I tell them to Husband he just looks at me funny!
Mybe it's a flash mob
ReplyDeleteHa ha!! well, I see the funny side of it all Robin even if your DH doesn't! Love this painting - we've got telegraph wires opposite our house and the birds sit on them...the thing is there are 5 wires, so they look like the staves for music, and the birds look like the notes...I keep wondering if there's a tune waiting to be played!....so you can tell your husb. that the woman over the pond has a long suffering husband...perhaps they should start a 'club for long suffering husbands'! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI kinda thought they were waiting for the fasion show.
ReplyDeleteYou can say anything here Robin...and I'll never look at you funny!
Lol, love your quirky mind :) & those birds are SO cute :)
ReplyDeleteI know what there meeting about in our part of the world..."let's get the hell outta here before the snow settles in"...that's what I'd be saying. Love. Your pic, and thanks for the early morning laugh. xx
ReplyDeleteI have veen so busy lately that I haven't been able to visit for a while...and today's visit was so very nice (as usual)... loved it all, but especially love the bird painting and story. I too would wonder what they were up to!
ReplyDeleteKim
There's a poem by Norman McCaig about birds - called 'WIld Oats'. I think you'd love it.
ReplyDeleteI've been busy with going to California for a doctor's appointment and my daughter's 37th birthday for which she had a big party (her birthday is 37, her lucky number and it fell on 11-11-11 this year) so I haven't been keeping up but I sure wanted to come back and see your posts looking on the bright, fun and quirky side of life.
ReplyDeleteNow I know I am not the only one who imagines stories like these!
