Bought myself a cheap fountain pen.
I thought maybe it wouldn’t skip, like some of the Micron pens
do on me. (It’s a left-handed thing, lol.)
It doesn’t skip, but it’s not waterproof.
As it turns out, that works to my advantage for shading.
Lemonade from lemons!
Another entry for the Sketchbook Challenge.
I’ve also finally found the courage to work in an actual BOUND
journal. (Although, take note, its spiral bound so if I really hate something I
can tear it out! LOL)
I still don’t like it.
Being left handed it makes me feel ‘cramped’ when I work on a
page.
I’ve tried turning it around and working in it backwards, so
that the spiral is on the right, but that totally goes against the very grain
of my being!
I just can’t do it!
(It’s hard to be me!)
I can see what you mean Robin!...(about the spiral that is).lol. The new pen works well though, great drawing:)
ReplyDeleteAnother member of the Sinistral Minority. No wonder I like you so much!
ReplyDeleteTurn it so the spiral is at the top. I rip 'em out anyway...usually so I can scan 'em flat.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I love this drawing...you have used your tools to your advantage ! :)
Lovely sketch.
ReplyDeletewonder if they make left handed sketch books? It must be difficult for you. The spiral at the top is a good idea, hope it works for you xx
Wow! I've never thought about this before. I wonder if my left handed son feels the same. I love your drawing though.
ReplyDeleteI use spiral bound at times. I use both the back and front of a page so half the time the spiral is on the correct side for me just as it is for a right handed person. If it's uncomfortable to you to use the book backwards and you don't use both sides then how about just using the back side of the left hand page? I don't use BIG spirals but only smaller ones to make it easier too.
