(Yesterday's stroll down memory lane reminded me of this.)
We always talked up how great school was.
How important you were when you went to school!
How intelligent you were when you went to school!
How many cool things you'd learn when you went to school!
How FUN it was!
Son2 was so excited to go the first day.
His excitement had waned by the time he got home....

ReplyDeleteYes I know the feeling. When my daughter was 3 she had to have minor surgery, and for some reason she decided it was going to be fun. I think she enjoyed the extra attention she was receiving. As her mom I didn't want to tell her it wasn't going to be fun, although I did my best to down play it. When she awoke after the surgery she said in a little teary voice "It wasn't as much fun as I thought it was going to be." Yeah it broke my heart.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful!
